Brown-Forman plans a bourbon barrel factory in Indiana June 12, 2015

Brown-Forman Corp. is expanding its operations into Indiana for the first time. The company plans to spend $12 million to buy and expand a mill in Owen County to produce wooden staves and end pieces for its bourbon barrels, The Indianapolis Star reports. The 15,000-square-foot mill is in Spencer, Ind., and 50 people will be hired to run it, while the barrels are assembled at another site, the story said.
